Yeah ok, so he has a slight resemblance to a very famous extra terrestrial. So what? Sam Cassel was the quintessential winner. Never afraid to lead. Always ready to take the final shot (usually a tricky but sweet midrange jumper). And one of those rare crunch-time killers. Cassel was slept-on in the 1993 draft and then picked by the Rockets in 24th place. Still, the youngster had more confidence than a WWF wrestler and lead a legendary Rockets squad (which also featured Hakeem Olajuwon, Clyde Drexler, Robert Horry, Kenny Smith, Otis Thorpe and Mario Elie) to consecutive championships in 1994 and 1995. Cassel spent 15 years in the NBA and played for eight (!) different teams. It’s hard to believe, but it’s true: Sam Cassel won a third championship with the Boston Celtics in 2008. That’s cause he’s a winner. Helluva dude.
