This epic reality-movie is one of the most successful documentary films ever and was even nominated for an Oscar in 1995. It’s that good. Hoop Dreams follows Chicago high-school basketball stars Arthur Agee and William Gates over the course of several seasons and gives you the ups and downs of high-school hoops as well as the inner-city struggle raw und uncut (we mean that quite literally – the movie has its legnths at 172 mins).
