Introducing the “Freshmen Swagger” Pack

Twenty years ago, basketball changed forever. Never before had hip hop culture left such an obvious footprint in the clean and wholesome world of college sports. It was a display of unbridled confidence and an aggressive in-your-face attitude. The extra baggy shorts, the black socks and bald heads. More trash than Middle America could take. You either loved these guys – or hated them. As you may guess, K1X (est. in 1993) loved them for personifying “swagger” to perfection. And K1X was very much inspired by this early blend of basketball and hip hop, a mixture which remains a main ingredient of most K1X designs to this day. The “Freshmen Swagger” pack is out now!

Road to the Association – Part 4

In this episode, our guest writer and aspiring pro baller Brian Kortovich talks about the lockout, balling with New York Knicks’ star Carmelo Anthony and a new campaign designed to get him in the League sooner rather than later. It’s called GiveBKaShot.com and you should definitely check it out!

Hello again K1X Nation!

You know, for all of the reasons that the lockout is a drag, there is one benefit – pick-up run in the city has never been better. Just the other day I played ball with Carmelo Anthony out here in NYC at Chelsea Piers, thought I’d give you a bit of play by play on how the newest Knick is staying in shape, and how I managed to hold my own in his company…

K1X x Charles Oakley – Official US Release recap

Saturday marked another highlight for our brand new K1X NYC flagship store with the official release of the K1X x Charles Oakley collection. Annoyed by the constant talk about the lockout, the NY basketball media showed up in bunches to hear Charles Oakley speak up – and Oak did not disappoint. After the media session, basketball fans of all ages got their chance to chat with the former Knicks enforcer and get his autograph on the latest Oak tees, sweaters etc.
