Lil Thugs Expo
Our boy Lil Thugs is presenting his work (with fellow artist Berthet) at the “Paris Hip Hop 2012″ exhibition this week. Check out his iconic illustrations (many of which were created for K1X) – and slip him some skin … !

Location: La Rotonde, 6-8 Place de la Bataille de Stalingrad – 75019 Paris M° Jaures – Métro Stalingrad
Spotted: Saigon
This past weekend, Munich City offered a three-days-inner-city-festival with a different type of program and music for each day. Whitsunday belonged to the hip hop heads and, in addition to a bunch of local acts, was headlined by Homeboy Sandman, Afu-Ra and Saigon – the latter actually being on the road for several shows with Slaughterhouse at this point. “Bread & Circuses” on the way. Shouts to Giddy for representin’!

RIP StayHigh149
Yesterday, grafitti artist StayHigh149 sadly passed away. He is considered one of the most influential artists and a pioneer of grafitti and was called a “superstar” of the graffiti world in the late 1970s. His trademark includes a smoking version of the stick figure from the 1960′s British television program “The Saint” and is considered one of the most famous graffiti tags in the world.
We were lucky to meet Wayne Roberts aka. StayHigh149 aka. The Voice of the Ghetto in 2010 and and we are extremely proud that we got to work with this very humble guy for our 4-E basketball series. The foot print he left in the world will always be remembered. RIP. The Nation of Hoop salutes you.
STRAIGHT, NO CHASER
You heard of this one yet? It’s been out for a hot minute so u better check it out. “Autographs” is the latest video to Reks’ new album “Straight, No Chaser” which was released via Showoff/Brick Records.
You can listen to it right here.

We’re really proud of this one… there’s no one quite like him.

Sir Samuel – Pour Mes Youths
French rap artist Sir Samuel (Saian Supa Crew) is family like the Cosbys. He just released his latest single “Pour Mes Youths”. Enjoy!
Spotted (once again): Mac Miller x Coke Boys
Check out Bad Boy signing French Montana & the kid Mac Miller chillin’ in the tour-bus recording “Smoke & Drank”. To make sure that they can convincingly bring across what the title of the track is all about, they obviously spark a leaf and drink on something purple. Mac’s advice: “I don’t suggest this to my young fans… Let us do the rapper shit and y’all stay in school and get good grades…”. Word.

Good looking out, Mac: after our Love Is For After The Game and What’s The Scenario tee, our MTP hoody and Oak Car Wash jacket we are happy to see that you like the K1X Hustle tee as well.
THE SIDELINE STORY
Now that’s big time! It was around Christmas last year when we spotted J. Cole rocking our K1X MTP Zipper Hoody in Paris. Now we found out that he was also shooting a video for the title track of his album “The Sideline Story” at that time. Seems as if he likes our hoody, so he didn’t change. Again – good looking out, Jermaine.

Besides our K1X MTP Zipper Hoody, J. Cole is wearing our What’s The Scenario Tee and our MTP Leatherman Jacket.

This one really makes us proud!

Soup of the Day: LT Golden Era Basketball Tee (Lil Thugs for K1X)
For K1X’s spring/summer 2012 collection, Parisian artist Lil Thugs took it to the hole hard. This design features the most iconic hoopers of the 90s, a decade which has already gone down in history as basketball’s “Golden Era”. Consider this design its unofficial Hall of Fame. Juice Jam 2012
Every year JUICE Magazine, Europe’s finest hip hop publication, sets up an exclusive event that you can consider being the mirror to what’s happening in Rap-Germany at the moment.
And one thing is for sure: the scene is more variegated than it has been for a pretty long period of time. One artist, who has been mentioned in insider circles as the next big thing for years now, will finally drop his debut album this summer. His name is Megaloh – you’ll definitely hear of him soon. Trust us on this one!

Spotted: Kurtis Blow
The hip hop legend who gave us “The Breaks” dropped by our headquarters yesterday. We’ve been friendly with Kurtis for a couple of years now and it’s always great to catch up with him whenever he’s in the area. Highlight of his visit was probably when he walked into the design department (no heads-up) and dropped a couple freestyle verses. Catch him on the K1X Tracks Radio Show real soon…

R.I.P. Notorious B.I.G.
Today 15 years ago Notorious B.I.G. aka Christopher Wallace was killed. One day before his death, acclaimed photographer Barron Claiborne took the last portrait of Biggie. It would be his last and most iconic one. The picture would become known as the K.O.N.Y. (King of New York). This particular print which was created for the 10th anniversary of Biggie’s death includes the instrument of his demise and is called “Tonz-O-Gunz “. The print is now up for sale and can be purchased at a price of 2999 USD. First come, first serve. Hit us on berlin@k1x.com if you’re interested.

Spotted: Mac Miller (again)
Pittsburgh’s own Mac Miller has taken the rap game by storm lately. And he’s big on Instagram, obviously. A couple of weeks ago, Mac stopped by our K1X NYC flagship store and picked out our “Oak Car Wash Jacket” among other things. Good looking out!

New Look Book Preview Clip
Our spring/summer collection is a tribute to a decade of excellence, which became known as the “Golden Era”. The Dream Team had just won gold in Barcelona. Rap was somewhere between underground and taking over the world. And MJ was MJ. Back in 1993, basketball’s (and hip hop’s) pure quality and ultra fresh flavor inspired the birth of the K1X brand. Here’s to our roots…!
The new collection was shot by renowned nightlife photographer August Castell-Castell in Lisbon (Portugal) and features our friends Mo, Pascal, Tom Breezy, Tith, Rich, Hank and Papa Neal.
