Armed with pure lyrical prowess and with the hunger and talent that comes along with a Brooklyn mc’s pedigree, Maffew enters Hip-Hop as an artist on a mission. A mission that many consider impossible, especially in terms of bringing East coast music back to the forefront. In particular music that’s not just about the beat, not just the dance and not just for the club, but all together, driven by the mc, who commands the track with lyrics, flow, content, charisma, swagger and contagious energy. K1X is very much down with that.

Our loyal friend and supporter Termanology recently released a mixtape with ST member Ea$y Money named “S.T.R.E.E.T.”.
“Derelict” is the latest video to their release and features the homey REKS (who kills it right around 01:40) in our K1X MTP Zipper Hoody and Neo College Jacket.
Statik Selektah and Termanology (1982) recently toured Europe with the homey Reks to promote Statik’s latest release “Population Control”. Even while on tour, they made sure they hit the studio and record! The result of this very session is called “Play Your Role”. Song and video recorded in Sweden (Mahalo Studio) in less than 45 min.

Our buddy Sir Sam is notorious for his energetic live shows. Here’s a taste…

In this episode, our guest writer and aspiring pro baller Brian Kortovich talks about the lockout, balling with New York Knicks’ star Carmelo Anthony and a new campaign designed to get him in the League sooner rather than later. It’s called GiveBKaShot.com and you should definitely check it out!
Hello again K1X Nation!
You know, for all of the reasons that the lockout is a drag, there is one benefit – pick-up run in the city has never been better. Just the other day I played ball with Carmelo Anthony out here in NYC at Chelsea Piers, thought I’d give you a bit of play by play on how the newest Knick is staying in shape, and how I managed to hold my own in his company…
Let legendary Rucker Park announcer Hannibal da Most Electrifying tell you why Brian is called “Smokin’ Aces” and enjoy the rest of the blog post after the jump!
Mac Miller is a shooting star on the rap scene – and it’s obvious that hip hop’s golden era was instrumental in shaping his flavor (shout out to Big L and A Tribe Called Quest)! Last month, Mac came to our hometown of Munich to make the rap-kids go bonkers (see update Sep. 12th). Two days later, MM wore our “What’s the Scenario!?” tee at his celebrated show in Berlin. Thanks for letting everyone know what’s “most dope”!
We took Dutch artist/producer Bamba Nazar’s portrait as part of our “Heads” spring look book 1,5 years ago – and have stayed in touch ever since. Here’s a look at his latest oeuvre…
“Warriors” is the lead single off of Bamba Nazar’s debut album “March on Gamorah” due out in 2012. This song pays homage to those who made the ultimate sacrifice to attain liberty, justice and independence. The video to Warriors was shot on the 46th anniversary of Malcolm X’s assassination, January 21st 2011, and opens with a powerful Adam Clayton Powell speech that rings as true today as it did over 50 years ago.
As always by Brian Kortovich.
Hello K1X Nation – Hope the summer has been treating all of you well. Mine has been in full swing, staying on the grind both on and off the court. One of the questions I get asked the most is how the lockout is affecting me. I’ll be honest – it’s a bummer. Right now the biggest casualty for me is the loss of the Vegas Summer League. It’s always a great stage to show the association what I can do. Not having it, it means I need to work a little harder, which is exactly what I’m doing.
After preseason workouts/camps with the New York Knicks and New Jersey Nets the past two seasons, I had all the right momentum, I felt like I was oh so close… But again, I’m going to get there – there is no doubt in my mind.

ATTENTION ! ! ! Our new fall/winter collection 2011/12 is ready for tip-off (later this month). Here’s a sneak peak appetizer of some of the styles you can look forward to. Shot in and around Miami, Florida, this clip features selected shots of our upcoming “Play Hard” lookbook. You like?
… Saigon damn sure is! This dude went through so many ups and downs in his life and career – and hustled his way through. Check out the dope cinematography in the clip to his latest release (off producers Ceasar & Pstarr’s “War Music”).

Here is the exclusive recap of what went down during this year’s Bread & Butter fashion fair in Berlin including our booth, an already legendary party at Bang Bang Gallery featuring Ghoestpoet and a whole lot more. Thanks to everyone involved!
Here’s a look back a this year’s Desert Land outdoor area at the Bread & Butter trade show in Berlin.
Look who we bumped into … Twin brothers Taiwo „Christian“ and Kehinde “Rich” Hassan (also known as “Christian Rich”) are got-next producers, songwriters, artists and DJs based out of Chigaco, who go by the name of Good Luck Chuck. They’re protégés of Pharell Williams and Chad Hugo of The Neptunes and N.E.R.D (with management from N.E.R.D’s Shae Haley). Sure, these guys are down to earth like a Comet. But Taiwo and Kehinde have produced for high-brow talent like Diddy, Lupe Fiasco, Chris Brown – and they’re just getting started.

Christian Rich came into popularity with their success as platinum producers for their work with Lil’ Kim and The Clipse. The release of a classic mixtape called “The Decadence” also launched the duo to the New York scene. More production work continues with Miguel, Pusha T, J. Cole, Fabolous, Ludacris and many others. Christian Rich also plans to finish their first EP “The Decadence 2″ due out Summer 2011 via iTunes and Amazon Digital formats.
In terms of DJing, they’re all about the hot spots, such as Thompson Hotel’s “Above Allen”, Webster Hall, Gallery Bar, Sutra Lounge and Highline Ballroom, just to name a few. Right now they’re checking out the German club scene – of course they had to pay us a visit in Munich as well.
This image was shot in December of 2008 in Ft. Myers, Florida. It was hard to keep the entire crew focused for longer than two seconds, especially because El (front row, second from right) and Ryan (last row, first on left) kept on talking smack with young “Chris Bosh” Darlington (last row, second from right). This group of individuals is about as talented as they come – and even more entertaining. Thanks for the good times!

Here’s a clip by Nils of Hoopmixtape.com. It gives you a good picture of the energy and vibes during our week with team Flight Brothers down in Florida…
Inspired by the world’s premier dunk crew, Shal aka. Crazy Air from Russia set out to make a name for himself.
The only way to describe this rapper from Chicago is to visualize animation that has jumped off of the page of an urban comic book storyline right at the climax. Be it the articulation of the nocturnal life of the streets of Chicago’s south-side, the truths regarding community anarchy, everyday life lessons of a young black man, or self-reflection and contemplation of world events, Lid Law brings it to you minus the sugary candy coating. Watch out for “Lit-it-ure Unforgivable Knowledge”!

Our man Jukebox from Canada has hit us up with his latest dunk video. Seems like dude is back in business.
Jukebox is wearing our Big Tag Micro Mesh Shorts.
Our friend Kadour Ziani was in Algeria this year – to eat, live, drink, sleep and promote his passion of dunking. See the first clip in this link for some best-of moments and understand why they call him “Zianimal – The Godfather of Dunk” … Ok, the other clips and not bad either …
