not sure who or what “ilkkan” is, but someone went the extra mile here, assembling the top 100 (non-nba) dunks ever. some pretty sick stuff – great job! shout outs to our friends from team flight brothers, who pretty much own this thing, with multiple appearances by troy mccray, guy dupuy, special fx, justin darlington, werm, golden child and t-dub…
jordan always knew: you don’t have to be a great dancer to play ball (see jacko’s “jam” video). but special & el prove that you can also be a great dancer and (!) a great ballplayer. well, maybe not as great as the greatest, but close.
After recently presenting the Basketballs of Marok and Frank 151 Feat. Stay High 149 from our “4 Elements 4 Icons 4 Basketballs” series, we can now give you an exclusive first look at the third part of the project featuring Bill McMullen.
McMullen is a graphic designer, illustrator and artist from San Diego, based in New York City since 1996. McMullen’s designs have found their way on to clothing, album covers and toys for various brands and clients. He has designed packaging, DVDs and promotional videos for many artists including the Beastie Boys, Method Man, DMX and N.E.R.D, just to name a few. Also focusing on his own artwork, McMullen creates limited-run editions, and has released several notable vinyl toys like the famous AD-AT or SHUTTLEMAX for Kidrobot.
For K1X’ limited artist series of basketballs, McMullen interpreted the element of fire. McMullen has created a flame-like sphere, allowing him to incorporate his favorite color, orange.

not only are meg goettingen the best dressed team on the old continent … they’ve been stirring shit up on the on-court too, especially in the eurochallenge, which is even more noteworthy considering it’s the first time goettingen’s k1x warriors are featured in a european club championship. after winning the first game in russia two weeks ago, the “purple squad” really flexed their muscles vs. the frenchmen from gravelines dunkerque (!?!, yeah thats what we thought too) in a lopsided 81:51 victory last night. so now they’re 2:0 and brimming with confidence. which is always a good look. as are the following clips, the first of which features a monster block by the man in the middle, jay boone. the second gives you a raw behind the scenes look at goettingen’s recent journey to russia, and the travelling life of pro basketball in europe.
IT’S WORLD WAR IV … well, luckily it’s not but believing saigon’s metaphorical rapping he definitely ain’t bringing knifes to a gun fight but rusty gunz for real. up his sleeve: one of brownsville’s grimiest: mop’s fizzy womack. watch the latest video of his latest release “warning shots 2” right here.
saigon rocks our k1x at large tag hoody.
After 20 years of dunking (and additional careers in soccer (professional goal keeper!!) and high jumping, kadour ziani – the man they call “zianimal” – keeps cementing his rep as “the godfather of dunk”. Reaching such a longevity is a complex process of daily stretching, body strengthening, jumping drills and mental work. The 5,11″ French-Algerian who recently turned 36 travelled to Phoenix to shoot his DVD “Learning to fly : How to play above the rim”, in which he finally reveals all his secrets to help you increase your vertical leap and flexibility. The DVD will be available on sportvideos.com for 30$.
here is a sample of what you can expect from the dvd:

the drama king kay slay is back with a vengeance, and gotti, jim jones & busta rhymes got his back. make sure to check the baller reppin k1x’s “together we chill” uniform in the clip!
snoop dogg’s ‘wonderland high’ tour, which co-featured hip hop’s most energetic one-two punch in method man and redman, recently made halt in chicago. after meth repeatedly surfed the crowd, the duo ended their set with a chi-town anthem (“kick push”), when lupe himself suddenly appeared on stage (click the video below). we got a special kick out of an already extraordinary performance after noticing tical’s basketball shorts, which happen to be our very own k1x stealth shorts.
this video recap of the 2008 5th Ave sports league charity game at madison square garden was just forwarded to us. besides the whole 5th annual sports league crew it features two of our buddies: corey “homicide” williams as well as the man known as “kool bob love”, bobbito garcia. thought we’d just share this with you.
as it is said in the video, the benefits from that game went to african countries that were exploited by diamond trade. similar to our efforts to help team sierra leone (pictured below).

thank-you speeches are harder than you’d think , but dutch streetballer ia-sonn, who broke two guiness world records last week (see beginning of clip!), handles the task with ease … thanks for the shout sonn, we love that ball too!
the junior for iowa state university did what he does best in a win over drake – lighting it up from three-point-land. our homeboy scored 32 points and connected on 10 threes shattering the school record in the process!
keep doing your thing lucca, we’re rooting for you!
this song is not on saigon’s latest release “warning shots 2” but still a dope track of a dope album titled “all in a day’s work” with statik.
raw rhyming over a smooth and soulful beat. selektah-style. ey yo giddy: give us the album, man. give us “the greatest story never told”. give us some real rap sh*t we’re all waiting for.
for those of you who don’t know, k1x headquarters are located just a stone’s throw away from the oktoberfest in munich, bavaria. for fun, we asked our new intern frido to raise hell at the world famous oktoberfest and to keep the camera rolling. here’s what happened … you can be sure we’ll be back with part 2 next year.
www.hoopeduponline.com delivers basketball news, highlights and eye-candy like the mailman in his prime. now you can also check out the freshly dipped review of our k1x shorty line.
we have no idea what ron artest is doing with a mini-me version of a formula 1 car out in la-la-land. but it’s good to see our boy hasn’t lost his edge. and even better to see that he’s sporting that kay-one-ex. the fact that one of the bystanders keeps on telling ron to think “safety first” has a sweet and absurd touch. and is very funny, considering we are talking about the one and only ron artest and a car he probably stole from set of the tom hanks movie “big”. check it out…
for those who don’t know – rasheeda ain’t new to this. she started with da kaperz in ’98, is known as a solo artist since ’99, released her first solo-album in ’01 and just dropped her fifth studio-joint “certified hot chick” in august this year. and ever since she stepped in the game, she been working with the best – from birdman and akon to pastor troy and the dream as well as jazze pha, nelly and lil john.
