James White stepped on the basketball scene with a bang with his infamous performance during the 2006 NCAA Slam Dunk contest. The University of Cincinnati product then went on to win an NBA championship with the San Antonio Spurs in his rookie season. After that, James earned his stripes as a warrior of the Nation of Hoop by playing for various teams in the highest leagues in Europe. Needless to say that “Flight” White dominated the dunk scene everywhere he went, winning pro slam dunk contests in Russia, Turkey and Italy in the process. No wonder – with personal bests of 7,32m in the long jump as well as 2,13m in the high jump…On the court, the 6-7 forward is known for his superior athleticism and explosiveness – as well as his quickness that allows him to defend smaller guards too. White’s arsenal also includes a reliable jump shot and a whole lot of hustle.
“We are excited to welcome James to the family. He is a natural progression in K1X’ rich tradition of partnerships with outstanding leapers, that also includes the legendary dunking crew “Team Flight Brothers”. Basketball fans word-wide are in for an eye-popping treat, should the NBA invite James to All-Star Weekend (February 17th, Houston). I am positive that our guy is the highest jumping athlete the NBA has ever seen. Let the best dunker dunk!”
– Chris Grosse (K1X C.E.O.)
For the 2011/12 season, James has signed a deal with the revamped power house that is the New York Knickerbockers (currently leading the Eastern Conference with a 15:5 record). White, who might just be the most spectacular dunker in the NBA, recently joined forces with German basketball brand K1X and is currently sporting the all new basketball performance shoe, “K1X AntiGravity”.
“The AntiGravity is my weapon of choice. That shoe is the best launch-pad I’ve ever seen, haha! Seriously, the AG is an eye-catcher and the ultimate support for my game.“
– James White
The “AG” will be launched in six monochromatic color-ways this January at selected retailers, including Snipes (Germany/Austria), online retailer KICKZ.COM, Sneakerhead in Moscow and SlamJapan in Tokyo. K1X‘s latest basketball sneaker is built on the brand‘s trusted formula, which provides a low and wide stance, thus delivering supreme court feel in addition to explosive ups and maximum injury prevention.
