LION BASE is a documentary photo book that illustrates the creation process – and gives a revealing glimpse into the lives of the LION BASE crew – consisting of 20 struggling adolescents in Freetown, Sierra Leone. In addition to visualizing the making-of process of the BATIK Edition, the book features a variety of unseen footage from the “Inside Out” project by street artist JR, showing the typical oversize portaits of the very same protagonists of this *folorunsho project. LION BASE provides an intimate perspective at the raw life in the streets of Freetown, documenting the life these 20 youths were living under horrendous circumstances: The book’s stunning imagery invites you into a reality that most of us are unable to imagine. The book is only available at COLETTE and selected locations for a retail price of 35,-. All profits will go to the *folorunsho Sharity to provide an education and adequate living conditions for the LION BASE crew. It’s not about charity. It’s all about sharing!

Our goal was to create a premium streetwear pack strictly for girls and make a difference in terms of charity. Thus 20% of the proceeds of the KARINA KINO X K1X collaboration will be donated to the Pavlin orphanage, a small institution that depends entirely on donations and volunteers.

Due to the lively response to the Decade Pack in Spring 2011, K1Xclusive is back for an encore this fall: The „Decade Lining Pack“

While the special feature of the original spring series had been the lack of inner lining, the fall 2011 series will present the 80s and 90s silhouettes with a solid inner lining and durable full-grain leather, making the construction more resilient. Both the 80s and 90s silhouette come in black grain leather, white outsoles and a pop of cyan blue on the heel loops.

K1Xclusive Fall/Winter 2011/12 proudly presents: The Mask Pack by K1X. Centerpiece of the pack is the iconic mask design, which was introduced in our “Baloncesto“ collection (fall 2010). The mask is a nifty hybrid that blends together a basketball and a Mexican wrestling mask. That in itself illustrates what our basketball inspired streetwear label is all about: “Play Hard – don‘t embarrass our products!“

The DCAC Mask Pack consists of two versions of our classic DCAC silhouette, boasting high-end suede leather in sand/sand and grey/grey. The pack is topped off by a slick grey (heather) crewneck that features the mask logo in a black water-based chest print.

Centerpiece of the pack is the Shoot & Score Logo, an homage to K1X‘ “winner-stays“ attitude and basketball‘s most fundamental skills: shoot and score. The design is an abstract visualization of a ballplayer‘s genuine drive: shoot and score.

The Shoot & Score Pack consists of a crewneck and a beautiful remix of K1X‘ notorious DCAC silhouette, which boasts high-end suede leathers in bleached honey and a grey crepe sole. The Shoot & Score design ties both pieces together (feat. the sneaker‘s inlay soles). All K1Xclusive products can be identified by the navy colored “K1X“ tab, which adds subtle brand recognition to each style.

Last week, DJane and the It-Girls’ It-Girl, Palina, was spotted wearing our stellar DCAC Mohr Edition Mk2 while dj’ing at renowned Galeries Lafayette. Berlin’s hot spot for high-fashion hosted the Schuh Lá Lá event. It was all about shoes so homegirl had to step it up. One thing’s for sure: the hottest sneakers of the night were behind the DJ desk.

Last friday, K1X celebrated the homecoming of the K1X DCAC Patrick Mohr Edition alongside the renowned POOL boutique and designer Patrick Mohr in Munich’s wonderfully off-beat “Art Babel” location. After release launches of the tri-colored footwear silhouette at Wood Wood (Berlin) and 424 Fairfax (Los Angeles) earlier this fall, it was time for a grimey Bavarian get-down in our own hometown. So why the hell not invite a bunch of friends, hipsters, weirdos and Oktoberfest tourists to a former carpet store and call the whole thing “Mir san Mohr Release Rave”? Notorious DJ crew Kill the Tills and Patrick Mohr himself provided an eclectic array of tunes, including a unique back-to-back rendition of “Crockett’s Theme” (yeahhhh!!) and “Hölle Hölle” (booooo!!). “We don’t make mistakes – we just have happy accidents!” (Bob Ross).

Acclaimed nigthlife documentarist August CC caught the event’s vibe on these following images, which have been amped up by some artyfarty projections, that made a beautiful backdrop to a strangely unforgettable night.

Last week we celebrated the global release of our already legendary DCAC Patrick Mohr Mk2 at WOOD WOOD Berlin. Fans, heads, influencers and journalists got a first glimpse at the limited edition sneakers (80 units per colorway) and dance to the tunes played by Patrick Mohr and DJ Hell (Gigolo Records). It was a night to remember and if you missed it make sure to check the recap video by HIGHSNOBIETY and the pics after the jump.
