Basketball DNA for the streetwear aficionado: The Decade Pack is our homage to 30 years of basketball footwear design. The Pack consists of three lifestyle silhouettes, each one representing the look of one decade respectively: the models are called the “80s”, the “90s” and the “Y2G”. Each decade (a.k.a. shoe) is characterized by key elements of its era in design as well as in production.
All three shoes are reduced to the max: one layer of leather only, no linings or other add ons give the shoes a raw vibe: a bold visual statement. Each model is available in two color-ways. The grey version is made of extra thick 2-tone nubuck leather, while the white version features a super soft premium full-grain leather. As on all K1Xclusive products, branding is kept subtle – in this case the iconic tag logo is lazered on the shoe’s tongue and heel.
Here’s a first look at the 90′s model. See it from another angle and the alternative color way after the jump…
Check back on Wednesday for a peek at the Y2G!

After previously presenting the Le Dünk Pack (apparel) and the Decade Pack (footwear), we are now about to release the third pack of our highly anticipated K1Xclusive Spring 2011 line: The Sierra Leone DCAC limited edition pack. For this project we have combined all ingredients for an outstanding footwear project: a unique story, maximum exclusiveness, high end distribution and a dope product.

We kept it as limited as it gets: 22 different colorways limited to 15 pairs per style worldwide, placed in some of the most prestigious retailers around the globe. Each boutique will hold distinct one-of-a-kind DCAC silhouettes, available nowhere else. The pack combines original African ankara fabrics, Asian footwear manufacturing and German know-how. It arose within the framework of the *folorunsho design project, which remixes original African materials and techniques with western design. $25,- from the proceeds of each of these 330 unique sneakers will be transfered directly the Sierra di Lion Sharity Trust Fund, which supports the local youngsters, that actually design and manufacture many of the *folorunsho pieces.
Check out the endearing making-of video and find more info as well as pictures of every shoe after the jump.

Our notorious 4-E artist basketball series made quite an impact at the famous “Colette” store in Paris last year.
Now, we are proud to witness our inaugural K1Xclusive apparel pack at the legendary concept store. Colette is known as Europe’s most outstanding and selective account for streetwear, fashion, limited editions (and basically everything that stands out). Of course, “Le Dünk” had to get in on the action. Make sure to drop by COLETTE when in Paris to get your hands on one of our limited Le Dünk tees!

Le Dünk hit trail blazing french blog/shop “Black Rainbow” this week. The Parisian “Extraordinaire Magazine” is known for bringing you the best in culture, lifestyle and streetwear. What many don’t know: the makers are real basketball heads as well! That’s why Black Rainbow Shop is also one of the few selected locations world wide to sell the limited apparel collection.
“Le Dünk” is louvre for dunk, right? Magnifique!

Last Friday, February 25th, marked the official USA release of our notorious K1X x Patrick Mohr sneaker (inaugural edition). LA’s streetwear community, sneaker heads, artists and fans gathered in flocks at 424 Fairfax Ave in Los Angeles to celebrate the launch. German fashion designer Patrick Mohr, who attended the event – and dj’ed (!) for the night (in turns with “The Pastries” & “Grace and Brooke”) – was overwhelmed: “It was an incredible event and the love and care I found here blew my mind. 424 and this unique footwear project with K1X have managed to set the perfect intro for what could be a very successful journey into the US market for Patrick Mohr. The excitement, interest and understanding for our very special sneaker collaboration couldn’t have been better, I am overwhelmed!” 424 (who currently also feature K1X’s “Le Dünk” Pack) will be one of the few accounts world wide to sell the highly anticipated second edition of the shoe, Mk2 (red, sand, white), which will be globally released at Wood Wood Berlin in August later on this year. Check out some impressions from the memorable launch party in L.A.! (continued after the jump) And stay tuned for the Mk2. The saga continues…

We have worked on some brow raising projects lately. The 4-E basketball design project (feat. Marok, Frank151/Stay High 149, Bill McMullen & Mode2), the footwear design co-op with german fashion designer Patrick Mohr, or the cinematic tribute to NYC basketball featuring Pete Rock and Red Cafe for example. The demand for exclusive content and limited products was the driving force behind K1X’ newest brand category: „K1Xclusive“ = strictly exclusive products for strictly exclusive accounts.
K1X was a trail blazing player in turning basketball into lifestyle. Now K1Xclusive looks to propel basketball lifestyle into the high-end streetwear sector. Kicking off the K1Xclusive Spring 2011 line is an apparel pack called „Le Dünk“, which proclaims dunking as a form of art.
This virgin K1Xclusive line consists of one crewneck, five tees and two caps, and was created in honor of the most memorable slam dunks in basketball history. The small prints on the back of the crewnecks and t-shirts tie back to the specific date the dunk was performed. K1Xclusive kept it simple but smart – and focuses on the action by stripping the design of all distractions, focusing solely on the athlete’s iconic silhouette. All K1Xclusive products feature understated logo branding. The “Le Dünk” Pack is now available at selected retailers like Colette (Paris), Bottega Back Door (Bologna), Pool (Munich), Overkill (Berlin), FourTwoFour on Fairfax (L.A.) and on KICKZ.COM. “Dunking is an art coming staight from the heart”
