the townsville crocodiles took on the the melbourne tigers on saturday. after being down by as many as 23 points in the third quartet the crocs battled their way back into the game behind a strong performance by corey williams. despite 21 points (on 9/15) and 7 assists by homicide, townsville came up short against the defending nbl champ in the end.

this right here is one of the best things ever. and another proof that british humor rules the world, especially when combined with an unassuming nba pro getting embarrassed by a dude in jeans, sweatshirt and k1x meet the parents.
devin harris recently showed up with several nba players in south london, before the new jersey nets took on the miami heat at london’s O2 arena for the nba europe live games. british basketball expert greg tanner (www.streetball.co.uk) was also on hand. and so was his brother stuart who is a bit of a streetball wiz in england’s (small but dedicated) streetball scene. stuart (from thames ditton in surrey), who had not played much ball since failing to qualify for the milton keynes lions of the british basketball league five years ago, challenged nj nets guard devin harris to a “friendly” round of one-on-one. a game that harris will NEVER forget … “He tricked me. He hustled me on my own court. He might be able to get an NBA contract. We might need to sign him up tonight.”, was all harris could muster up in excuse.
since then the clip has been seen by over 5 million viewers world wide. several days ago “stuart tanner” was the most searched term on google. and we are pretty sure devin harris has not slept well since the episode either. now that’s what we mean when we say “play hard – don’t embarrass our products.”

the townsville crocodiles survived a close one (103:101 over the sydney spirit) to bring in a w in their 250th homegame. homicide was leading the way with 35 points, 22 of those coming in the first half.

nacho martin, born in valladolid 1983, 2,05m power forward is going to start his 3rd season with the spanish squad of C.B. Granada. he has balled all summer long on the playgrounds around barcelona, won the first edition of the 1×1 last man standing in platja d’aro (girona) and also took the fantsay island 3×3 chips as well as several others tourneys. he’s also competing with his homies, the “Baller squad” (www.bsquad.es), and is now blogging about his basketball experiences at www.bkball.net.

streetball bible bounce magazine just dropped their new issue, another classic. the cover alone is legendary. especially for us, as it features the real ron artest: ron ron haninging out with the kids in queensbridge. the bk/red reversible jersey sets the kids are wearing in the pic are o.g. k1x jerseys we made up for ron & jose’s (wadup big fella!) aau team “triple threat tru wariers” a while back. it’s good to see they’re still the craze in queensbridge.
ron artest was probably the stand-out baller in new york city this summer. gotta love an nba player who works the street courts in his off-season on a daily basis. even with only just one fron tooth we might add. but corey “homicide” williams was the man who owned new york’s most respected tourney this summer: pro city. take a look at kyle henry’s account of why hunter college was the place to be and how homicide left his footprints by clicking the images below …
